Dundee City Council to discuss roof renewal proposal

Dundee City CouncilNearly £900,000 could be invested in the renewal of roofs on council houses in Dundee.

The local authority’s housing committee will be asked to approve the tenders at its meeting on September 14.

The work, which is part of an ongoing programme, would cover two phases:

Phase one including the renewal of roofs to 29 cottages and 3 tenement blocks at 2-18 Glenconner Drive, 28-83 Mossgiel Crescent, 23 Mossgiel Place and 88-112 Pitkerro Road, at a total cost of £362,490.75.

Phase two including the renewal of roofs to 44 cottages and 3 tenement blocks at 3-19 Alloway Terrace, 2-41 Mossgiel Crescent, 3-17 Pitkerro drive and 64-78 Pitkerro Road, at a total cost of £506,160.54.

Depute housing convener, Councillor Kevin Cordell, said: “This is another example of the ongoing investment in our housing stock and the improvements we are making to properties to maintain our houses to the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.

“I am sure that this proposal will be welcomed and that tenants will be looking forward to the work starting.”
