Volunteers helped make a Dunfermline neighbourhood cleaner and greener through a community clean‑up day.

Beachfield Court benefited from the efforts of around a dozen volunteers who joined Wheatley Homes’ Neighbourhood Environmental Team (NETs) as part of the social landlord’s latest Spring into Action campaign.

The volunteers, all from the law firm Pinsent Masons, took part in a morning of activities, alongside Wheatley staff, supporting a range of environmental tasks including planting, garden maintenance, litter‑picking and weeding.

The action day was one of several events taking place across the country during the campaign week, which highlights the vital work of Wheatley’s environmental teams.

Russell Munro, Partner at Pinsent Masons, said: “We do a lot of work with Wheatley in Scotland, and community activity is an important part of how we work with our clients. We were delighted to support work in the local area, helping with litter‑picking and gardening to improve the environment for residents.

“It’s also been great to see so many local people coming out to see what’s happening and getting involved.”

Jennifer Anderson, director of neighbourhoods at Wheatley Group, said: “We were really pleased that so many volunteers were able to join us through the Community Benefits programme to support our Spring into Action week.

“The energy and dedication of the volunteers were inspiring. It wasn’t just about making our neighbourhoods look better - it was about fostering community pride, encouraging ownership, and showing what can be achieved when we work together.

“We are grateful to everyone from our partner organisations who joined us and helped make our communities greener and cleaner for our customers.”

Spring into Action ran from Monday 16 March to Friday 20 March, with similar events take place in Wheatley communities in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dumfries and Galloway, and across central Scotland. Around 120 volunteers from Wheatley’s suppliers and contractors took part throughout the week.
