Glen Oaks Housing Association unveils new mural in Arden

Arden Mural and artist Rogue One

Glen Oaks Housing Association has unveiled a striking new mural in Arden, created by renowned artist Rogue One, as the centrepiece of its first-ever Estate Action Week.

Funded by BT and delivered through community benefits from the Kilmuir Close development with AS Homes, the mural reflects the voices of over 200 tenants who helped shape its design. It honours Arden’s past, celebrates its present, and looks ahead to a hopeful future.

Rogue One’s personal connection to the area—his father being a former long-standing Glen Oaks Board member and community stalwart, and his mother a Home Care Worker in the Arden area—adds depth to the artwork’s story of growth, change, and resilience.

Estate Action Week also featured a range of tenant-led initiatives, including:

  • Launch of the Glen Oaks Swap Shop (a Facebook group)
  • Winter Coat Appeal
  • Litter picks with Ashpark Primary pupils
  • Installation of hanging baskets
  • Good Neighbour Awards and garden competition
  • A “bring to us” uplift service
  • Streetscene Teams working to de-litter and de-weed common areas

The week also marked the 10-year anniversary of our Service Improvement Group, celebrating over 200 service enhancements driven by dedicated tenants.

Nicola Logan, chief executive, said: “The mural is a powerful symbol of community, creativity, and collaboration. It’s been inspiring to see tenants get involved and lead the way in shaping their neighbourhoods.”

Glen Oaks remains committed to honouring its community’s roots while supporting a vibrant future. It expressed thanks to its contractors and partners at GCC for their generous support in ensuring the success of the week.
