Green light for 42 new homes in Scone

Planning permission has been unanimously granted for a development of 42 homes in Scone.

Located south of the New Kingsway, the homes will form part of the Scone North development.

Councillors gave their consent to Persimmon’s plans at a meeting of Perth & Kinross Council’s Planning and Placemaking Committee on Wednesday, May 14.

At the meeting, councillors were advised that SEPA had removed its holding objection to the application.

The 2.7-hectare site is part of the wider 63-hectare Scone North development. Persimmon Homes has acquired this section of the site from the previous builder, A & J Stephen.

Planning permission in principle had been granted for the site and a detailed approval of matters granted to A & J Stephen.

The council’s major applications and enforcement team leader Sean Panton explained the application was“a change of house type and plot layout to reflect that of Persimmon Homes rather than A & J Stephen”.

He told councillors it was “similar in layout” and would have “no implications upon the delivery of the required affordable housing as part of the wider development”.

The properties will be a mixture of two and three-bedroomed terraced houses, three-bedroomed semidetached houses, as well as three and five-bedroomed detached properties.
