Hillcrest Tenant Services surge from strength to strength

Hillcrest Tenant Services surge from strength to strength

Members of Hillcrest’s Tenant Services Team

Hillcrest’s Tenant Services Teams, which include the multi-award-winning Hillcrest Energy Advice Team (HEAT) and the Financial Wellbeing Team, have achieved an outstanding milestone, nearly doubling their annual target by securing almost £5 million in financial gains for tenants.

This impressive figure includes £3.1m delivered by the Financial Wellbeing Team alone. Despite being a small team of just three people, HEAT contributed over £1m in tenant gains. Additionally, the Hillcrest Enterprises tenant services officer, who provides both energy and financial wellbeing advice to mid-market rent tenants, recorded just under £460,000.

These financial gains stem from a wide range of support provided to tenants, including help with resolving energy debt, emergency energy top-ups, heating system demonstrations, securing grants and funding, and accessing eligible benefits to maximise income.

These sector-leading results come at a time when the wider Tenant Services Team continues to go from strength to strength.

Support for mid-market rent tenants, a form of affordable housing that bridges the gap between social and private renting, has expanded further in the past two months with the appointment of a Social Wellbeing Officer. Through this new role, tenants can now access support and signposting for issues such as addiction, isolation, poor mental health, and more.

This new social wellbeing post for Enterprises expands the current Social Wellbeing Team, who up until now have mainly focused on Hillcrest Homes social rent tenants.

The Tenant Services Team has also published a new overview document, highlighting the teams within the service, detailing the financial gains achieved, and sharing real-life case studies.
