Jim White

The Wayside Club was established in 1932 to meet the needs of the homeless and those suffering from hardship, addiction to alcohol or gambling.

During his time at the charity, Jim undertook many roles, most recently as Treasurer. He could also be found outside Pret picking up food produce for the charity.

Jim often spoke at events to raise money, and he helped financially secure the city centre building it operates out of.

In 2028, Jim earned a nomination for the Great Scot Award as recognition of 60 years working with the charity.

Launching a fundraising campaign in his honour, the charity said: “(Jim) was always kind and generous with the people who needed help. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him and it would be a wonderful legacy to help raise funds for a charity so close to his heart.”
