The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) has appointed Karen McGregor as its new director of operations and membership.

Karen brings substantial experience, having previously worked at the National Lottery Community Fund, supporting community groups to access vital funding. Then holding senior roles across high profile sectors including Sustrans. Karen is currently on the board of Citizens Advice Scotland.

Joining the organisation this week, Karen said: “Ensuring that everyone has a safe, warm and affordable home is one of the most crucial challenges facing Scotland. SFHA has worked towards that for many years, and I’m proud to be joining the organisation at this pivotal moment to play a part in those efforts.

“SFHA needs to be strong and resilient to meet the challenges that are facing Scotland’s housing associations. I look forward to making our organisations and movement even more effective.”

The SFHA said the arrival allows the organisation to strengthen its membership offering, and ensure housing associations can continue to make Scotland a healthier, wealthier and fairer country.

Richard Meade, SFHA CEO, added: “Right now SFHA’s members need a powerful membership body more than ever. We’re hugely pleased to have Karen join us and I know she’ll be a great advocate for our members and only make SFHA an even better place to work.”
