Chair Liz McKenzie outlined the association’s activity over the past year, in what was her final AGM before standing down.

“Each year the AGM gives us a chance to reflect on the year that has passed, recognise what has been achieved and, importantly, look ahead to what we want to achieve together,” she said.

“I think there is a great deal for Ardenglen to be proud of. Our performance continues to be strong. Most importantly, our latest tenant satisfaction survey tells us that 94.2% of tenants are satisfied with Ardenglen overall. We also saw particularly strong satisfaction with how we keep tenants informed with the opportunities there are to get involved and have their say with 100% of tenants saying that they are satisfied with this process.”

Liz also reflected that more than 97% of homes meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard, and that more than 95% of repairs are completed right first time.

“We are a relatively small organisation, but our colleagues achieve a great deal, often in challenging circumstances. The service our tenants receive is ultimately down to the people who work here, and I think our satisfaction results demonstrate the positive difference they make,” she said.

The meeting also heard how Ardenglen’s financial inclusion has helped tenants secure more than £1 million in financial gains and support, gaining access to benefits they were entitled to but weren’t claiming.

“We have also continued to invest in our homes. This year has seen new kitchens and high-efficiency boilers installed, alongside our wider five-year investment programme. This is a significant commitment, but it is essential that our homes remain safe, warm, energy efficient and places that people are proud to call home,” said Liz.

Ardenglen manages around 1000 homes in the Castlemilk area of south Glasgow.

Chief executive David Byfield added: “I would like to thanks Liz for her support and professionalism during her time as chair of the association. Her leadership has been inspiring and I personally have found her support invaluable over the period.”
