Kingdom Housing Association members, board members and staff were brought together at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline on September 15th to celebrate the year’s accomplishments and milestones.
The main focus was on how the Kingdom Group has worked with purpose, pace and partnership to deliver on its mission to provide more than a home.
Kingdom Housing Association chair Linda Leslie opened the event by reflecting on the progress made, saying: “Our mission remains central to who we are and what we do. It means providing high-quality, affordable homes across nearly 7,500 properties, care services and wraparound support that enables people and their families to thrive.
“At Kingdom, we believe everyone should have a safe, secure home and the chance to build a better life. Our work tackles housing inequality and creates communities where people can thrive, meeting needs that go far beyond bricks and mortar. We know that when we work together, we achieve more for our customers.
“The last 12 months continued to be challenging. The housing emergency has tested organisations across Scotland, and economic pressures continued to affect our customers and communities, but Kingdom’s response has shown real resilience.
“The theme of our Annual Report this year, Delivering More, Together reflects our belief that when we work collaboratively, we achieve more for our customers.”
Attendees heard how Kingdom remains committed to offering more than a home by investing over £3.5 million in existing homes, completing 184 new affordable homes and delivering over 414,000 hours of care.
With over £47m invested in new homes, Kingdom has worked in partnership with local authorities to provide everything from family homes to accessible wheelchair bungalows. Recognising the ongoing cost-of-living crisis and housing emergency, Kingdom provided 206 homes to homeless households.
The AGM also highlighted the development work that was nationally commended when Kingdom was named Home Builder of the Year – Affordable Housing Provider at the Homes for Scotland Awards and the Excellence in Tenant Scrutiny Award at the CIH Scotland Housing Awards.
Leigh Grubb, group director of corporate services, added: “Kingdom is here to make a difference; for our customers, our communities and for each other.
“Looking back over the past year, it’s clear we’ve continued to make positive contributions in all areas of the business and our wider communities.
“My thanks go to the management and staff for their hard work and dedication over the last 12 months, supported and encouraged by the excellent leadership of Boards across the Kingdom Group.”
