Kingdom Housing Association Limited has signed a two year agreement for the management of its commercial and office utility services, electricity, gas and water across its sites with Business Cost Consultants Limited of Glasgow (BCC).

The arrangement with BCC will ensure that not only are Kingdom Housing Association (KHA) utilities tendered on contract expiry to achieve the most competitive rates possible but also that BCC will manage the services with utility providers releasing valuable resources within Kingdom to focus on other matters. The arrangement guarantees that KHA will make financial savings or the fees to BCC will be waived.

Nick Pollard, director of finance and IT at KHA, said: “This was an area of operations where the amount of internal resource involved in managing utility contracts across our office sites did not equate with the value of the transactions involved. We are confident that BCC can deliver a utility tendering and management service for us thereby creating operating efficiencies for us and our tenants but also demonstrating value for money.”

Anthony Hale, head of business development at BCC, added: “BCC are pleased to be working with Kingdom Housing Association and can add them to the long list of housing associations with whom we have a very successful relationship. Having carried out a free desktop study, we are very confident of making significant savings.”
