The parent company within the Kingdom Group made the commitment after the Association’s management committee approved the 2021 Kingdom Group Corporate Plan.

Kingdom is based in Fife and operates throughout East Central Scotland and the 2021 Plan identifies the strategies across all areas of activity across the Kingdom Group for the next five years and is reviewed and updated annually.

The Corporate Plan also sets out the financial projections for the association and includes a risk assessment of challenges within the sector and strategies required to mitigate these risks.

Freya Lees, Kingdom chair, said: “Kingdom’s Corporate Plan confirms our mission to provide More Than A Home. Our ambitious development programme will see us deliver an estimated 2003 affordable homes over the next five years. But the Plan is about much more than bricks and mortar. It cements our commitment to customer service excellence, to value for money for our customers, to increased partnership working, and to making a positive economic impact within the communities where we operate.”

Bill Banks, Kingdom Group chief executive, said: “At the Kingdom Group we have plans and strategies in place to cover a wide range of Housing, Maintenance, Development, Care, Community Initiatives and Organisational Support Services across all our areas of operation. We have ambitious proposals to increase our provision of high quality affordable housing and to further develop and enhance our services to tenants and customers.

“We have identified an ambitious development programme and a range of business development activities as part of the plan, however affordability is a key priority for us and we will not increase rents, for new projects or existing tenants, where this compromises affordability.”

Bill added: “We’re acutely aware of the impact coronavirus has had across society and providing value for money as well as added value services such as tenancy sustainment support, tenant participation, community outreach and employability programmes remain high priorities for Kingdom.”

The Plan also includes details of Kingdom’s plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its in-house repairs and maintenance system, delivering better value for money and greater customer satisfaction outcomes for tenants.
