Kingdom project tour highlights ongoing successes of customer-led approach

New City House, Dunfermline
The Kingdom Group has once again showcased its progress in delivering exceptional customer-focused services.
During the annual project tour, representatives from the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, funding partners, staff and key stakeholders toured sites and heard first-hand how Kingdom’s affordable housing and community-based care can lead to significant savings, whilst keeping customers at the heart of decision-making.
Welcoming guests during a reception at Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline, Kingdom Group chair Linda Leslie said: “At Kingdom, we talk about ‘Connecting You’, the thread that runs through everything we do.
“Whether it’s building new homes, improving existing ones, or delivering support and care services, it’s about connecting people to great outcomes. That’s what our One Kingdom approach is all about: different teams, departments, and disciplines working together to multiply our impact.
“The tour is our opportunity to visit homes and services that reflect that joined-up working.”
Group chief executive Tom Barclay added: “Our annual project tour offers an insight into our passion for what we do.
“We see innovative homes under construction and we look at how we maintain our established homes and developments. We engage directly with our customers, see how we can continue to support them to live independently, and hear directly from some of our colleagues who bring this work to life every day.”
Guests stopped at Dunipace, a few miles from Stirling, which houses 16 homes for social rent, including one-bedroom flats for supported living with wraparound care provided by Kingdom Support & Care (KSC).
Primrose Place, Alloa
Residents had previously spent years in hospital until the right support became available, but are now living in their own space with support hours decided by social work and care provided by KSC.
By providing these affordable homes and community-based care, Kingdom can reduce the costs associated with long-term stays in hospital by over 30%.
The tour also stopped at the active site of New City House in Dunfermline, a mid-market rent development featuring 32 highly energy-efficient two and three-bedroom apartments. Building with sustainability in mind, the homes are being future-proofed with all kitchens and doorways wheelchair accessible, integrated high-quality fire safety features, and design that allows for sustainable, cost-effective adaptation.
Another stop for guests was Primrose Place in Alloa. A haven in the centre of the town, Primrose Place is Kingdom’s award-winning development of 60 accessible homes which aims to keep over-55s or those with pre-existing medical conditions living independently for as long as possible.
Like New City House, the apartments have been designed to allow for the future installation of hoists and knock-out panels, and with the highest dementia-friendly accreditation there is, enable the long-term independence of residents that is central to Kingdom’s strategic thinking.
After the guests returned to Dunfermline, Linda Leslie said: “This tour is always a highlight of the year.
“Our strategic objectives are clear. We’ll deliver an exceptional customer experience, grow through improvement, partnership and innovation, and do it all sustainably and with integrity. The work we saw on the tour really brought those aims to life.”
