Kingdom Support and Care celebrates staff at annual conference

Staff from Kingdom Support and Care (KSC) gathered at the new Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline in May for their annual conference.

A total of 225 staff from the Fife-based care provider met over three half-days to celebrate success and share knowledge to help them to continue delivering life-changing services across Fife and the Forth Valley.

The event was hosted by Dan Blake, group director of communities, with guest speaker Gavin Oattes kicking off proceedings.

Hailing originally from Troon, Gavin’s high-energy presentation covered everything from the resilience needed to navigate modern life to looking for the glimmers of positivity to continue to lead well and succeed.

Those themes felt even more relevant throughout the conference as staff celebrated the successes of the past 12 months. KSC provides more than 8,000 hours of high-quality personalised support each week to help people live independently in their own homes, living the lives they choose for themselves and achieving their full potential.

Staff shared stories from each of the KSC services, with each one highlighting the realities and range of the day-to-day work they do, as well as the kindness, empathy and practicality shown by staff in their support.

The conference theme was ‘Connected by Excellence’, underpinning KSC’s high performance and how even the smallest of changes in day-to-day tasks can drive meaningful change and improvement.

Speaking at the event, Dan Blake said: “It’s been a great opportunity to get everyone together to celebrate their successes of the past year.

“This sector is incredibly demanding. The way our staff to continue to transform lives in such a compassionate and dedicated way, despite any obstacles and challenges they face, deserves to be celebrated.

“It’s the people who make KSC, and the stories of the transformations from the past 12 months makes every day worthwhile. I’m proud of what our staff have achieved this year and we’re feeling energised and ready to continue to make people’s lives better.”
