The family of Kacey are raising as much funds as possible to ensure all local kids clubs and schools have access to their own defibrillators.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it’s an essential part of trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest.

Helen Gordon, team leader of the Langstane Housing Support Service, who made the initial suggestion of Kacey Seivwright’s fundraiser, said: “I heard about Kacey’s fundraiser through a family friend and I know members of the larger family.

“I only moved away from Torry this year but I know the effect Kacey’s sudden death had on the whole community of Torry and Aberdeen. It was heart-breaking to hear the details of little Kacey’s death and when the email came out asking for recommendations of who to donate to, I put Kacey’s fund forward as a very worthy cause.”

Fundraiser organiser Lauren Boylan said: “The donation is greatly appreciated and we hope it will go towards saving someone else’s life. All in memory of our Kacey.”
