A common piece of feedback during draft consultations on regulations and guidance for new style LDPs was that practitioners are looking for more support with preparing ‘place-based plans’, including more map-based, graphic and visual presentations expected.

The guide highlights some simple but effective techniques that have already been used by planning authorities across Scotland. It shows diverse approaches used at different scales, which could be useful for illustrating different elements of LDPs.
