Details of an early opportunity to support well-being and social care charity LinkLiving’s latest Christmas campaign - Sponsor the Sparkle - have been revealed.

The Sponsor the Sparkle campaign will assist with brightening up the lives of those affected by trauma and disadvantage.

Businesses are being given the chance to sponsor one of the 36 LED stars available at LinkLiving’s Fife headquarters at West Bridge Mill, Bridge Street, Kirkcaldy. There will be a special switch-on event on Wednesday, November 30.

There is also an extra special star, the Celebration Star. It has been specially chosen to give people the opportunity to commemorate a loved one or maybe to give children some extra special Christmas cheer by seeing ‘their’ star shining brightly when they pass by West Bridge Mill.

LinkLiving is a well-being and social care charity that provides specialist person-centred support to help people who have experienced really difficult times. Its approach focuses on the belief that people can be supported to turn negative life experiences into positive skills which enable them to have the best lives possible.

Testimonials of past beneficiaries:

“I came not knowing what to expect and I am walking away with tools and knowledge that will last a lifetime. Not to mention I’ve made some really good friends.”

“My mum and sister said I was more happy and less down since completing the course. I also think I’ve gotten more energy.”

LinkLiving’s work includes supporting people with mental health challenges, homelessness prevention, improving independent living skills, social inclusion and employability skills, and specialist young people support.

Sarah Smith, LinkLiving CEO, said: “The last few years have been incredibly tough for everyone. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things are getting any easier. Although times are hard, you can make a real difference by brightening up somebody’s life by Sponsoring the Sparkle.

“This is a gesture that will mean so much to the people LinkLiving supports and also acknowledges the work LinkLiving does which is so vital to many people in Fife. So, I would urge you to come forward and brighten up someone’s Christmas through Sponsor the Sparkle.”

Individual donations are welcomed and businesses interested in ‘sponsoring a star’ can select from several options starting from £300. A number of benefits are offered in return.
