LinkLiving’s ‘Sponsor the Sparkle’ lights up Kirkcaldy
Health and wellbeing charity LinkLiving lit up the Kirkcaldy night sky as colleagues, volunteers, and sponsors gathered for the annual “switch on” event for the ‘Sponsor the Sparkle’ fundraising campaign.
Each LED star on LinkLiving’s West Bridge Mill building was sponsored by an individual business, contributing vital funding to support the charity’s work across Scotland. Sponsorship has now raised over £20,000.
LinkLiving, Link Group’s charity partner, help people of all ages who have experienced trauma, isolation, and disadvantage. Their goal is for people to live their best possible lives in their homes and communities.
West Bridge Mill is a vibrant hub for LinkLiving’s work in Fife, with a portion of the building reserved for supported temporary accommodation for up to 32 people experiencing homelessness. There, LinkLiving Support Workers adopt a trauma-informed approach to work with each resident, developing a tailored personal support plan which helps them learn independent living and employability skills.
Sarah Smith, executive director of communities at Link Group, said: “Sponsor the Sparkle is always a highlight in the LinkLiving calendar, giving us an opportunity to get together and celebrate another year of hard work by our staff and volunteers.
“We’ve been running this campaign for four years now, and the beautiful shining stars have become a recognisable landmark in Kirkcaldy in the run up to Christmas. We’re extremely grateful to this year’s sponsors for their contributions, which will have a tangible impact on the lives of the people we support.”
The final phase of the campaign runs right up until Christmas, with individuals and businesses invited to contribute to a JustGiving fundraiser.
