Three significant developments across Scotland that were completed recently contain Link’s milestone property which was delivered by an arm of its new commercial business, C~urb Property Development.

C~urb managing director and Link Group commercial director, Colin Culross, said: “Link’s developments at Millarston Drive in Paisley, Dunbeg in Oban and Mellor Place in Motherwell have all contributed to this amazing milestone.”

“After successfully navigating the challenges of Covid-19 restrictions with the commitment of our staff, design teams and contractors, we have been able to continue to deliver much needed homes throughout lockdown and achieve Link’s largest ever supply of new affordable homes.

“Notwithstanding this milestone, Link is currently onsite building more homes than ever, which means thousands more people and families will benefit from Link’s aim to help create sustainable communities throughout Scotland.

“As well as building houses, we also work with our partners to ensure maximum community investment is achieved during the development process and beyond – with all of Link’s construction tenders including a commitment from contractors to deliver employment and skills opportunities.”

During the last year, this resulted in 76 work placements, the creation of 36 new jobs and the deployment of 32 apprentices.

Link, which delivered 1040 homes in 2021/22, is a key partner to the Scottish Government in the delivery of its ambitious affordable homes targets and is aiming to deliver an additional 3,982 properties in the next five years.

Colin Culross added: “Delivering this scale of programme is only made possible because of the continued support of the Scottish Government, Local Authority partners and a range of stakeholders, who understand the need to increase Scotland’s affordable housing supply.”
