Milnbank Housing Association has become the first housing association in Scotland to achieve the prestigious Investors in Young People Gold Accreditation.

The award is the only people management standard that focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people.

Two of the Association’s young employees were recently presented with the Accreditation by Annabelle Ewing MSP, minister for youth and women’s employment.

Linda Sichi, depute director, said: “The Association is delighted to receive IIYP Gold Accreditation, especially as we are the first housing association in Scotland to do so. Our young employees play an important role in our business and we will continue to support and encourage them to develop.”

Milnbank Housing Association is committed to training and developing its young people. Almost a quarter of its employees are under the age of 25.

Attaining IIYP Gold Accreditation is particularly special at this time as Milnbank is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
