The walkabouts, which take place every year, are one of the key ways residents could influence the estate improvement process. 

Walkabouts enable tenants, elected members and council officers to discuss local priorities and influence the spending of funding for estate improvements. 

Actions carried out after last year’s walkabouts include upgrades to footpaths, eliminating overgrown trees and bushes, as well as enhancements to communal parking and fencing upgrades. 

This year’s programme of estate walkabouts will take place on these dates:

• 24 August: 2pm – Cullen Square, Cullen
• 25 August: 10am – Well Road Bakery, Buckie
  1pm – Seafield Hospital, Buckie
• 26 August: 2pm – Alba Place, Elgin
• 31 August: 2pm – Manbeen Place car park, Elgin
• 4 September: 10am – The Square, Rothes
• 14 September: 2pm – Inchbroom Avenue car park, Lossiemouth (next to number 84)
• 21 September: 2pm – outside the public toilets, Fochabers
• 22 September: 10am – Co-op, Grantown Road, Forres

Councillor Amber Dunbar, chair of Moray Council’s Housing and Community Safety Committee, said: “Estate walkabouts give tenants a direct opportunity to tell us what improvements they would like to see in their neighbourhoods. 

“Residents know their communities best, and the feedback they provide helps us identify priorities and plan projects that make a real difference.”

Dunbar added: “I’d encourage anyone with an interest in their local area to come along, share their views and help shape future improvements.”
