Muirhouse Housing Association delivered a Christmas cracker filled with family fun with Santa, of course, as the star guest.

The Association laid on a festive event adjacent to its offices full of seasonal cheer which families flocked to.

It was the ideal curtain-raiser for Christmas to get everyone in the party mood.

Muirhouse chief executive Susan Bell said the occasion was a remarkable success and thanked the community for their support by coming along.

The highlight was undoubtedly the Christmas tree lights switch on. This was generously sponsored by Kerax – the landscaping and estates contractor for the housing association.

A notable feature of the event was the opportunity for each child to participate in arts and crafts by making a bauble and a bookmark and then adding the name of a loved one to the tree.

Carol singing, refreshments and of course Santa in his grotto made the occasion one to remember with each child receiving a gift.

Susan added: “We want to say a big thank you to those who attended. It was the perfect occasion to get everyone in the mood for the festive season

“It was great to see the community come together once again and the excitement from the kids who came along was fantastic. We hope everyone had a great time and a wonderful Christmas when it comes.”

The event was supported by Muirhouse Youth and Development Group, Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre, Muirhouse Millennium Centre, “Ama-zing Harmonies” and The Old Kirk in Muirhouse.
