Scottish social care charity Cornerstone has completed a move into a new riverfront office in Aberdeen following the closure of its previous workspace.

Cornerstone, which also has offices in Dundee and Glasgow as well as district locations across Scotland, has signed an initial five-year lease of the North and South first floor wings of Centurion Court on North Esplanade West formerly occupied by a major oil and gas firm.

The charity relocated from its previous base at Atholl House in Aberdeen after the building was closed to make way for a new development and its new 7,800sq ft waterfront space will provide a welcoming and accessible facility for visitors and staff from across Cornerstone’s services.

Cornerstone chief executive, Edel Harris, said: “We are delighted to have moved into Centurion Court – a move which takes us to the heart of Aberdeen’s business district – and look forward to welcoming as many people as possible through our doors.

“Over the last 36 years, Cornerstone has grown to support more than 2,000 people and, operating from our vibrant new workplace, we hope to increase this number and reach many more people in local communities across the North-east.”

The new office provides workspace for around 60 Cornerstone staff as well as shared working desks and space for support staff to complete important admin tasks. The facility also includes private meeting rooms, breakout areas and high specification kitchens.

An official launch event was held on Friday, August 18 giving members of the Cornerstone board and some of the charity’s supporters the opportunity to meet staff and tour the new facility.

Cornerstone provides care and support services for adults, young people and children across Scotland who live with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and other support needs.
