ng homes hosts successful Community Connect Family Day

Dozens of families joined ng homes and community organisations at a family event at Springburn Sports Centre last week.

Attendees participated in activities and spoke with organisations at the event including Glasgow North West Citizens Advice Bureau, Home Start, Home Energy Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), AgeScotland, Glasgow Libraries (Glasgow Life), Springburn Auditorium, RSPB Glasgow and ng homes Bike Mechanic (On Bikes).

Staff from ng homes were also on hand to provide support and advice. Families were also able to browse a wide selection of pre-loved household items, clothing, books, toys and more.

To keep the younger attendees occupied, Scottish Athletics and Partick Thistle Charitable Trust were also on hand running sports activities and competitions throughout the session.

“We are thrilled to see so many familiar faces and new ones at our family event,” said Greg Cann, ng homes project manager. “This gathering not only provided a chance for families to come together during the school holidays but also reinforced our commitment to supporting our community as we prepare to start the new school year.”

Catherine Rossine, ng homes chair, added: “I am delighted that so many families came along to the event, and we hope they enjoyed the day as much as we did. I also wish to extend a thank you to the organisations who joined us, helping to support tenants and residents and connect them with other services and groups in our communities. It showcased the power of community partnerships – and we are already looking forward to the next Community Connect event.”
