Working in partnership with Miller Homes (West) Scotland the site will be home to 81 new family homes.

Formerly occupied by St Michael’s Primary School and Notre Dame Convent, Advance Land Regeneration, together with their planning consultants and master-planners, Barton Willmore, and Dougall Baillie Associates, consultant engineers, have spent the past year working closely with West Dunbartonshire Planning department to ensure that the layout has been meticulously designed and that it carefully responds to the challenging constraints within the site.

Work will start on site shortly to develop a new residential community that will feature a mix of two storey housing alongside open space, play area, extensive landscaping and a new access road.

The Carmelite Sisters will remain in Craigend House within the site and are looking forward to having neighbours for the first time in over 20 years.

Lynsey Breen, head of acquisitions at Advance Land Regeneration, said: “We are delighted to have gained planning for this development that will transform a neglected area into a thriving new community that will enhance and positively contribute to the local amenity and economy.

“The new development will feature quality family homes set against the backdrop of the Forth of Clyde and will have publicly accessible multi-functional open spaces for all to enjoy.”
