Phil Spencer to help renters with second series of podcast series

There are now six brand new episodes of the podcast series available on all popular podcast apps alongside the entire first series.

Phil is known to millions as the presenter of TV’s Location Location Location and he has teamed up with the world-renowned podcaster Chris Ducker for the new series.

The first episode tackles the age-old question “rent or buy?” with practical advice gathered from Phil’s career in property. In this episode, Phil and Chris discuss why more people than ever are choosing to rent rather than buy, how to stand out as the perfect tenant and why it’s important to know your rights as a tenant.

The first series focused on buying a home, whereas the new series will focus strongly on renting.

Phil has said that many people “struggle to find - or struggle to commit to - a property because they haven’t worked out the difference between what they want and what they actually need.”

The second series has been sponsored by Legal & General.

Phil Spencer, co-founder of property advice site Move iQ, said: “For too long, the balance of power in Britain’s property market has been held by just one side of the equation - sellers and landlords. Move iQ was set up to level the playing field for the other half - buyers and renters. It offers both a helping hand and a raft of vital tips and resources designed to make finding the right home - and moving into it - as painless as possible.”

He added: “The success of the first series of the Move iQ podcast tells us we’re onto something. In the second series we’re turning our attention to the unique challenges renters face, and the important legal changes that have recently shaken up the rental market. Chris and I will be talking listeners through how to find their dream home, how to negotiate like a pro on price - and how renters can get the best out of their rights and meet their responsibilities.”

The new series will cover:

  • Episode 1: How to Approach Renting a Home
  • Episode 2: How to View a Rental Property
  • Episode 3: How to Secure a Rental Property
  • Episode 4: How to Be a Good Tenant
  • Episode 5: What to do When Your Tenancy Comes to an End
  • Episode 6: Key Things to Know About Renting
