Plans submitted for new flats in Paisley town centre

Renfrewshire Council has received plans to build eight new flats in Paisley town centre.

Unicorn Architecture has submitted a bid for planning permission on behalf of a Glasgow-based applicant for the project at a site on School Wynd.

The agent company said in a supporting statement: “The site occupies a long-standing brownfield gap within the Paisley town centre conservation area and lies adjacent to a listed building.

“The proposal has been amended following informal feedback from Renfrewshire Council to address matters relating to natural light, frontage treatment and internal layout. The development seeks to deliver high quality residential accommodation in a sustainable town centre location, consistent with National Planning Framework 4 and the Renfrewshire Local Development Plan.”

Unicorn Architecture added: “The proposal represents a sensitive, high quality development that respects the conservation area, addresses the council’s feedback and delivers well-designed homes in a sustainable town centre location.”

A decision on the application, which is expected to be made by Renfrewshire Council planning officers, will be confirmed at a later date.
