Property management company eyes 4,000 new homes following relaunch

Francesco Mele

The newly relaunched Scottish property management company, ninetyOne, has laid out plans for major expansion, aiming for 4,000 additional homes under management within a two-year period.

Based in Glasgow, the company is positioning itself for growth in the new build sector with intentions to extend its activity into the Highlands as well as other emerging residential markets. The move comes after a £50,000 rebrand from the business’ original identity of 91BC Property Services Ltd, established in 2015.

The strategy is being spearheaded by director of operations Francesco Mele, appointed last year, as the company looks to build on delivering consistent services at scale. The company’s growth will be driven by a shift towards new and high-end developments.

Mele said: “There is a clear opportunity in the market for a business that can grow without compromising on standards. Too often, in any sector, scale comes at the expense of service. Our ambition is to prove that you can do both by putting the right operational structure, people and systems in place from the outset.

“We’re starting in the Central Belt, where we already have a strong presence, but the long-term opportunity is national. That includes expansion into areas like the Highlands, where new development is increasing and expectations around management are rightly high.

Mele added: “We’ve come through that start-up phase where you’re proving the model and building the foundations. This is the next stage for us. We’re ambitious and we won’t shy away from that. The focus now is on scaling the business in a way that’s controlled, consistent and sustainable.

“There’s a real opportunity to grow our footprint across Scotland, but to do that properly you need the right structure behind it. That’s what we’ve been building and now it’s about delivering.”

The company is also looking to boost its operations to bring more control, consistency and oversight into how developments are run on a day-to-day-basis.
