The initiative forms part of the Association’s anniversary celebrations and recognises the contribution tenants make to maintaining strong communities and neighbourhoods in South Dennistoun.

With household budgets continuing to face pressure, the scheme is intended to provide practical support during the festive period while acknowledging the important role tenants have played in Reidvale’s history.

Established through community action, Reidvale has spent five decades providing homes and supporting the neighbourhood it serves. Its history is closely connected to the determination of local residents to protect their homes and retain a strong community voice in housing decisions.

The Tenant Reward Scheme reflects that community-focused approach, recognising that the relationship between a housing association and its tenants is fundamental to creating and sustaining successful neighbourhoods.

Under the initiative, tenants whose tenancy commenced before 1 January 2026 can apply for a £100 supermarket voucher, subject to meeting the scheme’s eligibility criteria.

The criteria include maintaining a clear rent account, meeting tenancy responsibilities and providing reasonable access for statutory safety inspections.

Denise Dempsey, chairperson of Reidvale Housing Association, said: “Our 50th anniversary is a chance to celebrate everything that makes Reidvale special, and at the heart of that is our tenants.

“Reidvale was built on the determination of local people to protect their homes and their community.  Fifty years later, that commitment to people and place remains just as important.

“We wanted to mark this anniversary in a way that directly recognises the contribution our tenants make.  We also appreciate the financial pressures many households are experiencing, particularly as Christmas approaches.

“This scheme is a practical way of saying thank you.  We hope the £100 supermarket voucher will provide some welcome support and remind tenants how much we value their part in the Reidvale community.”

The scheme will provide one £100 voucher per eligible tenancy, with vouchers distributed during the first week of December 2026.

Applications close on Monday 16 November 2026, with tenants able to obtain further information and submit applications through Reidvale Housing Association’s office at 13 Whitevale Street, Glasgow.

As Reidvale celebrates its 50th anniversary, the Association remains focused on protecting its historic housing, improving services and strengthening its relationship with tenants and the wider community.

The Tenant Reward Scheme represents one way in which Reidvale is marking its past while recognising the people who remain central to its future.
