Reidvale tenants give landlord a resounding vote of confidence

Reidvale Housing Association has recorded a major uplift in tenant satisfaction, signalling renewed confidence in the organisation following a period of change and community-led renewal.

The 2025 Tenant Satisfaction Survey, carried out independently by Research Resource, shows significant improvement across all key indicators. Overall satisfaction with the service provided by Reidvale rose from 85% in 2024 to almost 93% this year, exceeding the national average.

Tenants also reported exceptional results in areas that reflect Reidvale’s commitment to communication and involvement, with over 99% of tenants saying they feel informed about services and decisions, and 99% satisfied with the opportunities to participate in decision-making.

Satisfaction with repairs and maintenance services increased from 85% to 93%, while the quality of homes and neighbourhood management both saw marked rises to 93% and 95% respectively.

These results mark a remarkable turnaround for the Dennistoun-based association, which has undergone a period of rebuilding since members voted in 2024 to remain an independent community-controlled housing association following the proposed transfer to another housing association. Since then, Reidvale has focused on strengthening governance, listening to tenants, and re-establishing trust within the community.

Denise Dempsey, chair of Reidvale Housing Association, said: “These results show just how far we’ve come in a short space of time.  Tenants have placed their trust back in Reidvale, and we are determined to build on that. The management committee and staff team have worked tirelessly to strengthen communication, improve services, and make sure tenants’ voices are at the heart of every decision. This is a real vote of confidence from the community.”

Reidvale currently manages 898 homes and has a membership of more than 400 people. Over 100 members attended the most recent Annual General Meeting, reflecting an exceptional level of community engagement.

Looking ahead, Reidvale is continuing to invest in the fabric of its homes and the wider neighbourhood. Plans are progressing for a major programme of external stonework repairs to protect and preserve the association’s historic tenements, alongside improvements to the factoring service and wider regeneration activity.

The association is also strengthening tenant engagement through the establishment of a new tenant engagement strategy, and by working with tenants and factored owners to shape a Community Investment Strategy. This will be supported by the development of a Place Standard and Home Standard, which will guide future investment priorities and ensure decisions are aligned with what matters most to residents.

Reidvale has also identified the Halliday Foundation as its preferred partner to take on management of the Reidvale Neighbourhood Centre. Discussions are underway about a broader partnership approach that would see the Foundation play a key role in supporting tenants and the wider community, ensuring the centre continues to serve as a vital local hub.
