River Clyde Homes receives grant funding to help families in financial distress

River Clyde Homes has received grant awards totalling £14,900, ensuring the housing association can help families struggling with the steep rises in the cost of living.

The association successfully applied for, based on customer referrals, and received £8900 from the Cash for Kids Winter Support Fund to help low-income families with basic essentials such as food, fuel and warm clothing.

The firm were then awarded a further £6000 from the STV Appeal Scottish Government Winter Support Fund to top up the funds available to support families in need.

River Clyde Homes will use this sum of £14,900 in grant funding to support 240 children from low income families who will each receive a voucher.

Elaine Cannon, senior housing manager at RCH, said: “We are delighted to have been successful in our further bid for funding from Cash for Kids as well as the additional funding received from the STV appeal.

“This is great news for the local community and the total funding of £14,900 means 240 children of low-income families will receive a voucher up the value of £70 to purchase basic essentials.”
