SBCC adds new members to committee and board

The Scottish Building Contract Committee (SBCC) Ltd has welcomed the addition of several new organisations and representatives to its Committee over the last 12 months, further enhancing the diversity and expertise on the committee.

SBCC produces building contracts designed to meet the requirements of the construction industry in Scotland. As the Scottish college to the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT), SBCC is currently adapting the 2024 JCT contract suites to ensure they are compliant with Scottish law and practice. Key themes for these adaptations include modernisation, streamlining, future-proofing, and addressing legislative changes impacting Scotland.

The SBCC Committee considers a range of policy matters and reports its recommendations to the SBCC Board. Committee members are nominated by SBCC’s five financial stakeholders and associated bodies, representing a cross-section of the Scottish building industry. SBCC stakeholders are the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), Build UK, the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the Scottish Building Federation (SBF).

Ysella Jago, SBCC chair, said: “We are delighted to welcome the new organisations and members to the SBCC Committee and Board.
