SBHA recently set out its priorities for customer experience, place-based regeneration, net zero, and organisational resilience in a new ‘Creating Growth 2025-30’ strategic plan.

Julia will continue to lead the organisation and deliver on its strategic objectives throughout the transition period.

Ian McDonald, chair of SBHA board of management, thanked Julia for her “outstanding leadership, vision and dedication” to SBHA and the communities it serves.

“She has guided SBHA through a period of growth and transformation, strengthening our culture and always keeping tenants and communities at the heart of everything we do,” he added.

“Under her leadership, SBHA has grown from strength to strength, with a sharper customer focus, significantly increased investment in existing and new homes, alongside deeper partnerships across the Scottish Borders. Julia leaves us with a clear 2025-30 ‘Creating Growth’ Strategy and a strong executive team, ensuring continuity and momentum as we begin the process of recruiting our next chief executive.”

Julia Mulloy, chief executive, said: “It has been a real privilege to lead SBHA through a period of significant transformation and growth. Together with our Board, colleagues, tenants and partners, we have built a resilient, forward-looking organisation with a clear strategic direction.

“SBHA is in a strong position, with a talented executive team and a robust plan for the future. I am confident that the Association will continue to thrive and deliver for our communities as it enters its next chapter.”

The board will begin the recruitment process to appoint the next chief executive.
