Share welcomes Scarf as newest charity partner member

Share, the training organisation providing professional development and learning for the housing and property sector, is delighted to welcome Scarf as its newest charity partner member.

This partnership highlights a shared commitment to supporting communities across Scotland and creating practical solutions for households.

Scarf is a charity and social enterprise dedicated to tackling fuel poverty, improving energy efficiency and promoting sustainable living across Scotland.

For more than 40 years, Scarf has helped households save energy, reduce bills and live in warmer homes through free, impartial advice and practical support. They also work with local authorities, housing associations and community partners to deliver projects that make a real difference to people’s lives.

“The challenges around energy, affordability and home comfort aren’t going away, and frontline staff play a crucial role in spotting when someone needs help,” said Lawrence Johnston, co-CEO of Scarf.

“By partnering with Share, we can equip more organisations with practical tools, clear referral routes and specialist advice that directly benefits their tenants. We’re excited to collaborate and support the sector in strengthening resilience across Scotland’s communities.”

One of Scarf’s current initiatives is the Scarf Fuel Fund, which provides urgent support to households at risk of running out of credit on prepayment energy meters.

The fund has already delivered over £770,000 in support and is open to referrals from more than 200 partners, including housing associations, charities, local authorities and businesses. Eligible households can receive up to £294 per year in the form of six energy vouchers worth £49 each, giving practical help to those facing financial hardship while minimising administrative work for referring organisations.

Through this partnership, Share aims to raise awareness of Scarf’s work and connect more households and frontline organisations with support such as the Fuel Fund, contributing to stronger, more resilient communities across Scotland.
