Share’s Workplace Wellbeing Conference highlights key priorities for housing sector
Emma Willey presenting on the day
Share’s Workplace Wellbeing Conference on Thursday 12th February brought together professionals to explore practical approaches to staff wellbeing, strengthening duty of care, and building healthier, more resilient organisations.
A recurring theme was the importance of safe and supportive workplace environments, with speakers emphasising impacts on leadership, employee wellbeing, and organisational performance.
The conference opened with a keynote from Emma Willey, managing director at ACS Learning and Consultancy. Drawing on over 20 years of experience, Emma highlighted the growing importance of integrating wellbeing within health and safety practices and introduced ACS’s new wellbeing guide. The guide provides a practical framework linking wellbeing with organisational safety, highlights risks such as high staff turnover, and presents a three-stage approach for implementation.
Delegates also engaged in workshops focused on creating inclusive and supportive workplaces. Becky Choat from SWAN Scotland demonstrated how practical adjustments can enhance wellbeing and performance, while Ashleigh Scott and Nikki Etheridge from Beatson Cancer Charity led sessions on managing stress and implementing effective support strategies.

The activities provided a hands-on way for attendees to experience immediate stress relief and develop practical techniques they could apply in both personal and professional settings.
Throughout the day, attendees also had opportunities to network with sector experts and engage with organisations including ACS Learning and Consultancy, Aileen Carson Coaching, Beatson Cancer Charity, and HMRC Help to Save.
