South Ayrshire Council makes strategic management team appointments

South Ayrshire Council has taken the next steps on its journey to transform how it delivers for people and places with the latest appointments to its strategic management team.

Councillors have appointed Jane Bradley and Kevin Carr as the final two executive managers to support the directors of people and place, Douglas Hutchison and Donald Gillies.

Executive managers Jane, Kevin, David Burns and Mike Newall will support the directors with service and financial planning, performance management, improvement and delivering an exciting transformation programme that enhances how the council works and how it delivers services.

Jane, currently organisational development and customer services manager for the council, brings an extensive and successful track record of working not only within HR and organisational development teams, but across a multitude of frontline services with responsibility for customer services, the emergency response team, employability and skills, and the information and advice hub.

Kevin, currently senior facilities manager at Renfrewshire Council, has enjoyed a successful career in local government, where he has spent the majority of his time working within strategy and policy development to support performance management and continuous improvement. In his current role, he is responsible for ensuring frontline operational services deliver for local people and communities.

Council leader, Councillor Douglas Campbell, said: “With these latest appointments and the recent approval of the council budget, and the council plan – Our People, Our Place – we’re now ready to hit the ground running and get to work on transforming what we do and how we deliver for our communities.

“Of course, that’s not just a job for our strategic management team – every single person in the council will have a part to play in that – and the directors, executive managers and heads of services will be responsible for creating the culture where they are empowered to do that.

“This is the start of a whole new way of working for South Ayrshire Council and will make a real difference for our people, both within the council and in our communities, and our places.”
