The new strategy intends to enhance the overall appearance and condition of council-owned estates and drive good relationships with tenants.

At a recent meeting of Stirling Council’s Housing Committee, elected members gave the go-ahead for the new strategy.

Stirling Council’s Estate Wardens cover more than 6,000 properties, including 347 common closes.

A greater focus on collaborative working between Environmental Health, Waste Services, Community Wardens and Police Scotland has been stressed in the strategy.

Councillor Willie Ferguson, housing convener, said: “The development of the Estate Management Strategy will help ensure that our council housing estates are looked after to a high standard.

“I’m glad that a commitment to ongoing, visible and proactive engagement with tenants is underlined throughout this new strategy as we aim to build and strengthen trust in the service.

“I welcome the actions it sets out to improve methods for reporting problems… in order that our neighbourhoods are clean and attractive places that our tenants can take pride in.”
