West Craigs will offer a choice of two-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom bungalows, two and three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached homes, as well as three, four and five-bedroom detached homes and four-bedroom townhouses.

The range of affordable properties will comprise a mix of two-bedroom apartments, as well as two and three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached homes.

This flagship development in the west of Edinburgh represents a significant investment in the local area by Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, and it includes contributions of almost £5 million towards education and transport.

West Craig also benefits from an extensive landscape framework that will include the creation of a linear path through the development to link it to the city, as well as landscaping specifically designed to blend in with the local landscape while retaining the existing farmhouse.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are so pleased to have acquired the land off Maybury Road in the west of Edinburgh and to now be gearing up our operation to start construction of our first development on the western side of the city for some time.

“West Craigs will not only provide buyers with a wide selection of homes, it will also offer great commutable routes to Edinburgh and the wider area.

“There are several months of pre-construction works to complete before we can finalise our timescales of when we expect to start building our new homes, however we expect that will be later this year and we will continue to update the local community with our plans.

“As well as delivering much needed new homes in west Edinburgh, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local area which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.

“This development will be a great addition to the local area, and it also complements our other developments across Edinburgh including Kinloch Green in Gilmerton and Bankfield Brae at Greendykes South.”
