Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has finalised a deal with Melville Housing Association to deliver 18 affordable homes for Mid-Market Rent (MMR), which forms part of its Pentland Gardens development in Bilston.

The homes, constituting a mixture of two- and three-bedroom semi-detached and terraced properties— will provide affordable housing for local families within Midlothian.

With construction having begun, the initial handovers are scheduled for early 2027.

Abby Kelman, interim land director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Our [Melville Housing Association and Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s] shared commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable communities remains at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to seeing the first residents moving into their new homes early next year.”

Neil Edgar, development manager at Melville Housing Association, said: “This latest partnership with Taylor Wimpey East Scotland allows us to offer more affordable homes in an area where demand continues to grow.

“The mix of two- and three-bedroom houses will give families modern, energy-efficient homes at a rent that is genuinely affordable.”
