Delighted tenants in West Lothian have welcomed a £750,000 investment in their homes.

Wheatley Homes East, part of Wheatley Group, has carried out large-scale work to improve tenants’ homes.

Over the last five years, 31 homes in Broxburn have received 137 new windows, 40 new doors, 30 new kitchens and also had central heating installed. External paintwork of the homes has also been refreshed and gutters and drains cleaned.

Tenants at Pyothall Court have praised their social landlord after works were recently completed.

James Hamilton, 83, is delighted with the work to his home. James said: “My house is looking lovely. I’m happy with my new doors and windows and my kitchen is great. I am so pleased. Everything is looking fresh - both inside and out.”

Wheatley Homes East chair Alastair Murray believes the big-money investment will help tenants who may be struggling due to the cost-of-living crisis.

He said: “I’m delighted to hear how our investment and improvement work is making such a huge difference to the lives of tenants in Pyothall Court.

“At a time when energy bills are rising, we’re pleased the work is making their homes warmer and more energy efficient.”
