Williamsburgh Housing Association celebrates the life of Graham Scott

 Graham Scott

Williamsburgh Housing Association is deeply saddened to advise of the death of its friend and colleague Graham Scott, who passed away on 2nd January following a short illness.

Graham started his career in housing with Glen Oaks Housing Association before joining Williamsburgh in 1999 as a development officer. In 2019, Graham progressed to take on the role of head of development and has been responsible for many new build developments throughout Renfrewshire, most recently with the launch of 33 new family homes in Paisley.

Over the past two years, Graham created the Estates Team, which has helped employ three new staff members within the organisation, increase customer satisfaction and develop our offering to our residents.

Paying tribute to Graham, Williamsburgh’s chairperson John Scott said: “I have had the privilege of working closely with Graham in my eight years of serving on this committee.

“I watched Graham grow into an exceptional leader – one whose dedication, integrity and quiet determination shaped not only our development work, but the very spirit of this organisation. Graham was one of life’s true gentlemen with kindness, diplomacy and collaboration at the heart of everything he did and stood for. He will be sadly missed by all who have been lucky to know him.”

Jon Grant, CEO at Williamsburgh, added: “The loss of a friend and colleague who was universally respected is devastating for everyone at Williamsburgh. Graham was selfless in his support for his colleagues and a role model for professionalism – always with good humour and a wonderfully modest attitude.

“He cared deeply about his work and that it helped to transform lives – which he undoubtedly did. Graham leaves a proud legacy that will continue to inspire the organisation for years to come.”

Graham is survived by his wife Lynsey and two sons. Williamsburgh Housing Association said their thoughts go out to them during this difficult time.
