WISH Scotland marked International Women’s Day with its first event of 2026 this month, bringing together women from across the housing sector in Glasgow to celebrate female leadership.

Hosted by Trust Housing Association, Female Leaders in Social Housing on Thursday 19 March featured two inspiring keynote speakers: Rhona McLeod, chief executive of Trust Housing Association, and Jackie McIntosh, Trust’s executive director of assets & sustainability and incoming chief executive.

After a decade leading Trust through a period of growth, Rhona will step down from her role later this week. She shared reflections on her time in post and the importance of nurturing in‑house talent.

From April, Jackie McIntosh will step into the role of chief executive. She shared her 28‑year journey from repairs administrator to CEO, and her ambitions for Trust in the years ahead.

Rhona McLeod, chief executive of Trust Housing Association, said: “Being part of last week’s event was a powerful reminder of what happens when women from across our sector come together to learn, share and support one another.

“The discussions, energy and openness in the room truly reflected the strength of the WISH community. Today reinforces the value of investing in people and creating the conditions where future leaders can thrive. I’m excited to see Trust continue to flourish under Jackie’s leadership.”

The event also featured interactive networking sessions led by Kirsty Wells, chair of WISH Scotland, encouraging delegates to share experiences, build connections and explore how women can be better supported to progress into leadership roles.

She added: “Save the date for our next event on 28 May in Edinburgh, we’ll be revealing more details very soon.”
