A new development of retirement apartments has been launched in Dargavel Village, Bishopton.

Housebuilder Chrysalis Homes has appointed Paisley-headquartered Clark Contracts to develop Waterside, a collection of 49 apartments which will be managed by McCarthy & Stone.

Waterside will feature five different designs of one and two-bedroom apartments, each varying in style and presentation. All the energy efficient homes have been designed to be low maintenance and feature fully fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, additional storage/utility room and fitted wardrobes. Some of the apartments include balconies with views across the neighbouring loch and parkland.

Dignitaries recently gathered on site for the official sod cutting ceremony to mark works starting which are scheduled for completion in the Autumn.

Linda Docherty, sales director, Chrysalis Homes, said: “Our apartments are specifically designed to support independent older residents who, perhaps want to live closer to their families within Dargavel Village, or seek an easy to run home.

“Our House Manager provides peace of mind to deal with any queries that might pop up and people can be as social as they like, but there will be plenty of organised activities and events should they want to join in. Each apartment is low maintenance and energy efficient so there’s no need to worry about upkeep.

“We’re delighted to have the skills and expertise of Clark Contract and McCarthy & Stone on board and are looking forward to welcoming interested home buyers.”

Michael Scanlan, director at Clark Contracts, added: “It is fantastic to have been appointed by Chrysalis Homes to complete the construction of this development in Dargavel. We are looking forward to working collaboratively with the team to deliver this high-quality living space.”
