CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Maintenance and Asset Management - May

Who is it for and what is it about?

This qualification explores some of the functions that are critical to housing maintenance teams within social housing. It is suitable for those with some experience in the area, or those currently working within housing, and will explore many practical issues and challenges faced by repairs and maintenance assistants and officers. Learners will be led by an experienced housing professional and will consider a range of topics, including professional practice skills, building construction and health and safety awareness. 

The qualification is delivered over approximately four months, and the class will have four scheduled teaching days, this teaching day will be delivered online and students are expected to be available for the full day. The qualification is assessed through written assignments of, on average, 1500 -1800 words for each unit. CIH suggest this qualification will take around 130 hours to complete, and an element of self-study and research will be required in this qualification.

    • Professional practice skills in housing  
    • Repairs and maintenance in housing organisations 
    • Health and safety awareness for housing management and maintenance

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this qualification, learners will: 

    • Be eligible for CIH Certified Practitioner CertCIH status 
    • Have a better understanding of the context and legislative framework that they operate in 
    • Feel more confident in their housing maintenance role 
    • Have developed a new network of colleagues within a supportive class environment
