Questions you should be asking - finance
Who is it for and what is it about?
For many Committee/Board members knowing what to look for in reports, understanding the meaning of what they read and knowing what questions they should be asking can be a challenge, and this can be especially true of a complex and wide-ranging topic such as finance.
This course aims to support Committee/Board members in their understanding of housing finance by helping them understand the crucial terms, trends and factors they should consider when scrutinising their organisation’s finances.

• Key areas of financial planning
• Setting budgets and monitoring management accounts
• Key financial terms and how they operate in practice
• Identify the critical questions you should be asking about finance
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Speak more confidently about the key financial indicators in their Association/Co-operative
• List a series of key questions to ask about finance and why they should ask them
• Understand the key tools used in relation to financial planning
• Understand the key financial terms and how they operate in practice
