Coatbridge’s skyline is changing quickly as demolition of the 172-foot Jackson Court tower enters a major new phase.

Aberdeen City Council has confirmed that demolition preparations will begin on homes in Balnagask affected by reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), with internal materials due to be removed from Monday, December 8.

Demolition works at Irvine’s high flats are now complete, with all five towers dismantled and the site fully cleared.

The demolition of Irvine’s high flats is nearing its conclusion with preparations well advanced to bring down the last remaining tower block, Afton Court.

Demolition work is set to begin soon at the Fullarton high flats in Irvine.
