Link Group shortlisted in two categories at the CIH Scotland Housing Awards

Link Group has been shortlisted in two categories at the CIH Scotland Housing Awards.

Speaking of the achievement, David Mackenzie, managing director of Link Housing, who started with the organisation in September, said: “It is exciting to be in the running for such prestigious sector awards.

“Despite challenges, it’s been another exceptional year and I’m delighted the team has received industry-wide recognition for all the hard work they’ve carried out to help people across our communities.”

The first category, housing provider of the year, recognises organisations leading the way in driving professionalism, learning and development and inclusion while delivering a great service for tenants.

Link was nominated for its excellent tenancy toolkit, shaped by Link staff to offer training around topics including trauma informed practice, money advice, fuel poverty and mental health awareness.

Tricia McShane, Link’s head of housing, added: “I am delighted the success of the excellent tenancy toolkit has been recognised.

“The sessions are delivered through different learning platforms including online, in person and our popular lunch and learn/bring your own blurt sessions, where staff share their own experiences and good practice in a supportive and safe environment.”

The second category, excellence in tenant scrutiny, is aimed at landlords and their tenants who show excellence in working together to carry out a piece of scrutiny work, or to embed scrutiny within the culture of the organisation in ways which has led to positive change, improved service outcomes for tenants and/or enhanced the lives of tenants and communities in some way.

Link’s independent Tenant Scrutiny Panel, which is up for the award, has carried out several scrutiny projects across the organisation with support from Link’s tenant engagement team.

The awards recognise and celebrate the creativity, passion and innovation of housing organisation and individuals across the sector in Scotland.

Winners will be announced on 25 November 2021.
