Staff at Maryhill Housing Association have delivered an early Christmas present to a deserving community group.

They responded to a request to help the “Family Support Unit” which is based at Ruchill community centre.

The unit is holding a party this week and asked for donations of gifts and selection boxes.

The staff swung into action organising a “dress down” day whereby they donated £1 to dress down with many opting to wear fetching festive jumpers!

This aspect of the fundraising collected £46 which was then used to purchase 23 selection boxes.

Staff were also asked to bring in a gift valued between £2 and £5 suitable for adults or children. These are now being delivered to Ruchill in time for the party.

Kirsty McCourt, corporate support officer at the Association, praised the generosity of colleagues.

Kirsty said: “It was a magnificent effort by the Maryhill team. People were so generous and the gifts along with selection boxes will go a long way to making this week’s Christmas party a big success.”
