224 new homes approved for Lesmahagow
Families in Lesmahagow are set to benefit from new homes and investment in local services after plans for a 224-home development were approved by South Lanarkshire Council.
The development, by Persimmon Homes West Scotland, will deliver a mix of energy-efficient homes ranging from two-bedroom terraced properties to five-bedroom detached houses, designed to meet the needs of first-time buyers, growing families, and downsizers.
As part of the plans, Persimmon will invest almost £800,000 into the local area, helping to support schools and infrastructure as the community grows. This includes more than £570,000 towards local education provision and £224,000 to improve local infrastructure.
The investment will help ensure the area continues to develop sustainably, with essential services supported alongside the delivery of new homes.
Craig Moore, Persimmon Homes West Scotland land director, said: “We’re pleased to see these plans approved and to be bringing forward much-needed new homes in Lesmahagow.
“It’s important that developments like this support the wider community, and the investment in local schools and infrastructure will help ensure the area continues to grow in a sustainable way. We look forward to starting work on site and delivering a high-quality development for local residents.”
Work on the development is expected to begin following the completion of planning conditions, with the new homes set to support housing demand in Lesmahagow and the surrounding area.
