Annie is an experienced leader in the public and not-for-profit sectors. She is chief executive at Sacro, working across Scotland to provide paths to positive change for people in the justice system, victims of crime, and people in crisis. She has worked across the UK leading NGOs, charities, membership bodies and as executive director with CIH Scotland.

Jamie is an independent consultant and facilitator who has worked in the UK and abroad, supporting individuals and organisations with their strategy and messaging. He also created and delivered a unique support service during the COVID-19 lockdown, for which he was awarded a BEM in 2021 New Year Honours List.

Annie said: “Shelter Scotland is an amazing organisation, and I am delighted and very honoured to be joining the committee. I want to do everything I can to support the work of Shelter Scotland in the current housing emergency and to promote long term solutions to Scotland’s housing crisis. No one in our country should be without a home.”

Jamie said: “Our communities are better off when we all have somewhere that we can put down roots and call home. When I was growing up, social housing provided my family with the stability that we needed to get on.

“Shelter Scotland is laser focused on the mission of getting more social homes built to make that a reality for everyone. That’s why I’m thrilled to be joining the committee, offering whatever support I can, at this critical time.”

Shelter Scotland committee chair, Kezia Dugdale, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Annie and Jamie to the Shelter Scotland Committee, and I’m pleased that we will benefit from their varied and extensive knowledge across a range of sectors and industries.

“The work of Shelter Scotland has never been more important, as the housing emergency deepens, the cost-of-living crisis continues to impact communities and the bearing this has on people’s physical and mental wellbeing.

“The problem will only get worse unless there is serious and urgent change. With the expertise of Annie and Jamie from their respective roles, we will continue to fight for a future where everyone in Scotland has a safe, permanent, comfortable home.”
