Abronhill Housing Association has appointed Audrey Murphy as permanent director.

Audrey has been providing director services on an interim basis since January 2024, leading the Association through a period of significant strategic review, including the development and implementation of a 3-year Business Plan and a Strategic Partnership Prospectus process.

Following extensive engagement with the housing sector, the Strategic Partnership Prospectus did not result in any formal partnership offers. The process, however, provided valuable assurance regarding the Association’s strengths, assets and future potential, enabling the management committee to carefully consider the most appropriate long-term direction for the organisation.

As a result, Abronhill Housing Association is now moving forward with a strategy focused on growth and consolidation. This approach will build on the Association’s strong community-based foundations while addressing the opportunities and challenges associated with our mixed-tenure environment.

The new strategy will focus on strengthening long-term sustainability, investing in existing homes and neighbourhoods, expanding where opportunities align with our objectives, and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality homes and services for tenants and residents.

Chair of the management committee, Anne Marie Thomson, said: “Audrey has demonstrated strong leadership, commitment and professionalism throughout her time as interim director. She successfully guided the Association through the Strategic Partnership Prospectus process while ensuring business continuity and maintaining our focus on service delivery.

“The management committee is delighted to appoint Audrey as permanent director and is confident that she has the vision and experience to lead Abronhill Housing Association into its next phase of development.”

Audrey Murphy said: “Having supported the Association through a period of significant change, I am both proud and humbled by the management committee’s decision to appoint me as their permanent director. I look forward to leading the organisation into its next chapter and continuing our focus on delivering excellent homes and services for our tenants.”
